Yankee Friends

I'm back for another "Getting to know me" post! Today, I'm introducing you to a girl who has become one of my best friends. This is Maddie.

(Featuring her boyfriend and dog, Daisy) 

Maddie has a huge heart and is one of the sweetest people ever. In our group of friends, she takes on the role of the mom. Which isn't bad, she just stops us from doing stupid things and if we do them anyways she comes to our rescue. We tend to make fun of her a lot because she is pretty awkward and she's a Yankee. She came to Canyon from New Hampshire so she's a long ways from home. 

My first memory of Maddie is from Rush week of 2014. We were playing the ice breaker game "who traveled farthest?". Maddie, obviously won the game, and had to go up on stage and tell why she wanted to come to Texas for college. All I remember thinking is "Man, that girl is awkward." Almost two years later, and she's still just as awkward (sorry). 

If I'm not working or with my boyfriend, Trevor, I'm with Maddie. We enjoy trying to make new desserts, taco Tuesday's, and looking at rescue dogs. (If she could, she would adopt every dog in Amarillo/Canyon). 

Maddie went through Rush (as before mentioned) but did not go Chi Omega. She found her home in Delta Zeta. Despite the difference in letters, it did not turn me away from becoming her friend. If it had, I would not have one of my best friends today. 

Since home is so far away, she spent the Fough of July with my family and playing "mom" when someone tried to do something dangerous with a firework.
